Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-03

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Purple Cow Tickets("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Description of Service

Purple Cow Tickets is a ticketing platform that enables event creators (performers, venues) to sell tickets and attendees to purchase tickets for live events in Canada. We charge a 1.85% platform fee on ticket sales, with creators receiving 100% of the ticket price.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Users between 13-17 years of age may use the Platform with verifiable parental or guardian consent. Users under 13 years of age are prohibited from using the Platform.

3.2 Account Creation

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3.3 Account Types

  • Attendee: Can browse events and purchase tickets
  • Performer: Can create and manage events, receive payouts
  • Venue Manager: Can create events at their venue, assign performers

3.4 Stripe Connect

Event creators must complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payouts. By using our Platform, you also agree to Stripe's Connected Account Agreement.

4. Ticket Purchases

4.1 Pricing

All prices are displayed in Canadian Dollars (CAD). The total price includes:

  • Ticket price (set by event creator)
  • Platform fee (1.85% of ticket price)
  • Applicable taxes (GST/HST/PST)
  • Payment processing fee

4.2 Pricing Limits

The following pricing limits apply to all events on the Platform:

  • Minimum ticket price: $1.00 CAD (paid tickets) or $0.00 (free tickets)
  • Maximum ticket price: $10,000.00 CAD
  • Prices between $0.01 and $0.99 are not permitted
  • All prices must be in Canadian Dollars (CAD) with a maximum of 2 decimal places

These limits are enforced at both event creation and checkout. DeepMicro Limitedreserves the right to adjust these limits with 30 days' notice to event creators.

4.3 Purchase Limits

  • Maximum 10 tickets per person per event
  • Event creators may set lower limits per ticket type
  • Maximum $5,000 CAD in purchases per payment method per day

5. Refund Policy

5.1 Event Cancellation by Creator

If an event is cancelled by the creator, all ticket holders receive a full refund of everything they paid at checkout, including the platform service fee and Stripe processing fees. The event creator (organizer or venue) bears the cost of the refunded fees and any non-refundable Stripe processing.

5.2 Buyer-Initiated Refunds

The cancellation window for buyer-initiated refunds is set by the event creator and displayed during checkout. When the event creator’s refund policy permits a buyer-initiated refund, you receive a refund of the ticket price plus applicable tax. The platform’s 1.85% service fee is retained as a non-refundable service charge for the work of selling and supporting the order. Stripe processing fees are also non-refundable, in line with Stripe’s policy on processed payments.

For events where the creator has elected to absorb fees on your behalf at checkout (so you saw a flat advertised price without separate fee lines), the refund is calculated on the same basis: the platform service fee equivalent and the Stripe processing fee equivalent are deducted from your refund. This ensures consistent treatment across all event fee modes.

Notice for absorb-fee modes: Because the platform service fee and processing fee equivalents do not appear as separate line items at checkout in absorb-fee modes, the amount returned to you on a buyer-initiated refund will be lower than the flat price you paid. Your refund confirmation email states the amount returned. Event cancellations by the creator (§5.1) are unaffected — buyers are made fully whole regardless of fee mode.

5.3 Partial Refunds

When permitted by the event’s refund policy, you may request a partial refund of one or more tickets within an order while keeping the remaining tickets valid. Each refunded ticket is treated under the buyer-initiated refund rules above; the remaining tickets are unaffected.

5.4 Chargebacks

Frivolous or fraudulent chargebacks — including chargebacks initiated without first requesting a refund through the Platform and giving us a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue — may result in your account being suspended. Where a chargeback proceeds, the full cost (including the dispute fee assessed by Stripe) is the responsibility of the event creator, deducted from their next scheduled payout. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights to dispute a charge with your card issuer.

5.5 Refund Processing

Refunds are processed within 24 hours of approval and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your financial institution.

6. Event Creator Obligations

As an event creator, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate event information
  • Honor all ticket sales
  • Notify ticket holders of any event changes
  • Comply with all applicable laws and venue requirements
  • Not create fraudulent or misleading events

7. Payouts

Event creators receive payouts 3 business days after their event ends (based on Eastern Time). This delay allows for refund processing and dispute resolution. Payouts are sent directly to the bank account connected via Stripe Connect.

Event creators receive 100% of the ticket price they set, less any platform or processing fees the creator has elected to absorb in the event’s fee mode. There is no separate transfer fee on payouts.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Post harmful, offensive, or misleading content
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Resell tickets above face value (scalping)
  • Create multiple accounts to bypass purchase limits
  • Use automated tools to purchase tickets

Enforcement: We reserve the right to cancel tickets obtained through prohibited means without refund, suspend or terminate accounts, and pursue legal remedies for violations of these terms.

9.1 Consent

By opting in to SMS notifications during ticket checkout or in your account settings, you consent to receive text messages from Purple Cow Tickets at the phone number you provide. 9.2 Message Types and Frequency
